Welcome Ryder (Hearthstone Player)

Ryder’s most recent event was DreamHack Austin’s 2017 Grand Prix. He had a smashing tournament and finished 9th - 16th out of 260 competitors. His talent shone through when he beat last year’s champ, Chakki, 3-2 in an epic match. Overall at the event, Ryder placed 9th-16th.

He can be found streaming Monday to Thursday from about 16:30 - 21:30 PST, Friday 16:30 - 00:00, and Saturday/ Sunday from 09:00 - 17:00. Tune on Twitch here and follow him on Twitter here

Ryder joins Jeff “Appa” Clark as our latest addition to our growing Hearthstone team. They plan on destroying the opposition, top decking victories and praying to #RNJesus all day. Tune into their streams to learn from the best, and check out the awesome gear that makes them look super sexy here.

Want to get to know Ryder better? Us too. Here’s a short interview for your viewing pleasure.

Tell us about Ryder?

I’m a junior in high school; I basically go to school, come home, play games, and wreck house.

What games do you play?

Obviously, I love Hearthstone, but I also enjoy playing other games with my friends. I dig Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, KOTK and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

How did you get into Hearthstone?

A little over 2 ½ years ago, three of my friends, CySauce, KingKangeroo and Kygun, got me interested in Hearthstone. We learned playing on our iPads in school.

How did you become a Hearthstone god?

Well, I’m no god, maybe just a demi-god. Seriously though, I started small, and loved the game so just got playing more and more. It wasn't until about a year later I started going to tournaments at Esports Arenas and local Fireside Gatherings. Another pal, Chrisswimlee, was actually the one who proposed for us to start going to these events. I loved the competition, I performed well, and I was hooked.

What do you want to gain from working with Cyclone?

First of all, I want to thank them for the opportunity. They have been professional, supportive, and are always available for a chat and a brainstorm. Thanks guys!

This is my first professional esports contract. I want to grow as a player and make sure Cyclone become a force in Hearthstone as well as their other titles. I also want to use their network to build up my fan-base.

Coming off a top 16 finish at DreamHack Austin, how do you feel going into more tournaments?

I feel like it was a step in the right direction. However, I will be even stronger and better prepared for future tournaments.

What can the Cyclone fans look forward to with you joining the team?

Can look forward to my regular daily streams, my sense of humour, my wicked dress sense and to seeing me at events.

We knew Ryder would be a great addition to our team, and we’re looking forward to our future alongside him.
